Meet Our Team
Meet Dr. Lap Nguyen
Dentist – Dr. Nguyen (pronounced “Win”) is originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine where he completed his dental education. He is very passionate about providing high quality care to patients and, at the same time, making them feel comfortable and excited to walk into a dental office. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is proficient in oral surgery, implants, endodontics, cosmetic crowns, and veneers.
Dr. Nguyen enjoys being a “Girl Dad” in his free time and hanging out in the northern woods on the lake. He considers himself a foodie and loves trying out new food trends and finding out the must-tries when traveling. He also has a Siberian Husky who keeps him busy and active.
Brandi – Dental Hygienist – Brandi was born and raised in Waupaca. After graduating high school, she earned her Dental Assisting degree from Fox Valley Technical College and later graduated with honors in Dental Hygiene from Northwest Technical College. What made her want to enter the dental field is the fact that she loves to see and help bring about beautiful smiles. Brandi understands the importance of six-month preventative care: she likes to catch things when they’re small so they don’t turn into a bigger problem. She always works to make patients feel comfortable and well-informed when in they’re in her chair.
When she’s not helping patients in our office, Brandi loves to spend time with friends and family, especially her four stepchildren — two boys and two girls — and her dog, Dolly. One of her favorite activities is enjoying the outdoors. She is a veteran who proudly served in the National Guard for three years.
Angela – Dental Hygienist – Angela is originally from south central Wisconsin. After working for 11 years as a dental assistant, she graduated with her certification in Dental Hygiene from Madison College. She joined our Crystal River Dental team in the summer of 2023 and made an immediate positive impact on both her teammates and our patients. Angela understands that every patient is different and works to provide an individualized approach to care. She is also focused on education related to dental hygiene techniques and the mouth-body connection. In addition to the many years of experience in hygiene and the dental field, she brings to our office knowledge, patient understanding, and a welcoming personality. She enjoys being a part of a caring and experienced team in a beautiful area she now calls home.
Outside of the office, Angela loves spending time with her husband, their two dogs, three cats, and chickens. Her interests include gardening, canning, preserving, hunting, and anything outdoors. She’s very excited to be in a new community!
Lisa – Dental Assistant – Lisa is originally from Brookfield, Wisconsin. After graduating from Waukesha South High School, she went on to study at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. She wanted to enter the dental field because she always had great experiences at the dental office when she was a child. She joined our Crystal River Dental team in the summer of 2021 and had an immediate positive impact. Lisa is always focused on making all patients as comfortable as possible in her care, and she’s always ready to lend a helping hand to her teammates throughout the office. Her favorite thing about being part of our staff is that we have an outstanding team with members who are always willing to support each other in the best interest of our patients.
When she’s not at work, Lisa loves to spend time with her family, including her husband of almost 30 years, their twin adult sons, and their two dogs, Reggie and Kodi. Some of her favorite pastimes are cooking, gardening, and taking care of all the dogs she can.
Ashley – Dental Assistant – Ashley was born and raised in Iola, Wisconsin. After she graduated from high school, she went on to attend and earn her degree in Dental Assisting from Fox Valley Technical College. What first drew her to the dental field is the fact that she really enjoys working in health care. She knows that smiles are important, and she wanted to help people gain their confidence back through their smile. Ashley joined our Crystal River Dental team in the summer of 2023, and she has been an immediate and integral part of our success as an office. She always brings a positive attitude and is very attentive to her patients, ensuring they have the best experience possible in the chair. One of the things she likes best about working in our office is that everyone is very welcoming and supportive.
Outside of work, Ashley loves spending time with her young daughter and their two cats. Some of her favorite activities include kayaking, playing volleyball, and taking walks on the beach.
Stacy – Dental Assistant – Stacy was born and raised in Illinois and moved to Iola, Wisconsin, in 1999. What first drew her to the dental field was the fact that she wore braces as a teenager and was intrigued by dental care after that. When it comes to her approach or work philosophy, she always keeps patients at the center in providing the best care possible. In addition to her patient focus and welcoming demeanor, Stacy brings to our Crystal River Dental team a great deal of experience, including 10 years in the orthodontic field and over 30 years in dental. What she enjoys most about working in our office is the fact that our whole team is very welcoming.
When she isn’t helping our patients and team, Stacy loves spending time with friends and family, especially her husband, Rick; her two daughters; her three stepsons; and her six grandkids. Some of her favorite activities include fishing, hunting, and camping.
Alisha – Administration – Alisha was born in Stevens Point, but she was raised her whole life right here in Waupaca. After graduating high school, she graduated college in 2015 with her Medical Office Assistant Certificate. She has always wanted to do something in the medical field but could never decide what she wanted to do. An opportunity came up four years ago to be trained on the job as a dental assistant. She was hesitant at first due to working in someone’s mouth, but realized it was all worth it once she helped patients get their beautiful smiles back. She joined our Crystal River team in the summer of 2022. When it comes to her approach to care, Alisha always looks to put the patient first by giving them the best education and information she can. Being a dental assistant previously helps her in educating patients and answering any questions they might have regarding the next appointment or procedure, and it helps them feel more comfortable in our office. One of the things she likes most about working at Crystal River Dental is the minute she walked in the door on her first day, she immediately felt welcome and a part of a family.
When she isn’t helping our patients, Alisha loves spending time with her husband and their two dogs, a black and tan coonhound and a border collie mix. Some of her favorite activities are kayaking with friends, riding with her husband on his motorcycle, camping, and going out with family and friends. One fun fact about Alisha: in addition to dogs, she has a huge love for llamas.
Reinlynn – Administration – Rein was born in New London, Wisconsin, but grew up her whole life in Clintonville. She graduated from high school in Clintonville and then went on to cosmetology school. After a year of schooling, she graduated with her Cosmology license and was in that field for over two years until she decided she wanted a change. Rein always felt like she grew up in the dentist’s office: She was born with a cleft lip which had traumatic effects on her teeth. She had braces for almost six years and a retainer for another two years after that. She saw the care they gave her throughout this process, and she wanted to get into this field so she could make patients smile and get the great care she once had. In our office, Rein is always focused on making sure there are no surprises for patients or for us. It’s her goal to cover all the bases and make sure they know what they’re coming into and the balances owed without surprises. Some of the great things Rein brings to our office are her welcoming personality, her ability to do fast math, her multitasking skills, and her height (which comes in handy more than you’d think). She really enjoys learning new things and taking on different responsibilities.
When she isn’t working, Rein loves spending time with her wonderful fiancé and her beautiful stepson named Wyatt. They also have three dogs and a big tank full of fish. Some of her favorite activities are going on walks, taking bike rides, making tie blankets, cooking new meals, and camping.
